Mention Ham Nation and you will get a discount too. I ordered mine from Buddiepole 4 or 5 years ago & they are still going strong. Cheaper at Bioennopower!

Still have a Argonaut 515 bought new with cw & notch filter. Also the 405 amp. Great little rig! Got an old Argosy 525 analog also. Easy to work on compared to today's rigs! Sold my Scout to buy the Argonaut V. The Scout had better SSB transmit audio, but Argonaut V did better on digital & CW. Had a 509 back in the 70s, but traded it in. Also have the Argonaut VI that was a beta unit turned in back in 2013.

The best QRP rig out there, in my opinion, is the KX3! Had mine for 4 years and can't say enough good things about it. The Yaesu FT-817, if you replace the stock I.F. filter with their Collins SSB filter & add their Collins CW filter, is not a bad little QRP rig. It's the one I grab for rough outdoors use. The KX3 is a much better rig, but also little more fragile at over 2 times the price. Use a resonant antenna, like LNR 40, 20, 10 end feed & you won't need a tuner.

I bought this little amp 4 weeks ago and really been happy with it on SSB when most of time need little more power. Smallest amp I have seen that peaks 40 watts on 20 meters going to a Bird watt meter into a dummy load. Yep, it is made in China. Looks like designed from a ham there since it has his call letters screen printed on circuit board, but never know if that is just a sales thing.

Price range from $180 to $250 depending on where you buy it from. I ordered mine from.

Shipping is about 2 weeks. Only pulls little over 6 amps at 40 watts out. It does need the 13 volts to get 40 watts, but will work at 12 volts at reduced power out. Love the little Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Battery that holds that 13 volts!
