The simplest fix for a loose pre selector tuning control is the felt pad
behind the knob. I bought a card full of them at the local hardware
store. They usually have adhesive on one side for sticking to the bottom
of furniture legs or lamp bases. I use a paper punch and put a 1/4" hole
in the center of a smaller pad and stick it to the back of the knob and
then re install the knob firmly against the panel. It sure beats taking
the radio apart.
