I went straight thru from the start to 10 PM Sat night. Think I had =
about 1.8 M at the time. Got back on for about 30 mins Sunday AM =
(overslept) from 7:45 to 8:15. Went to church. got back on around 11:30 =
til 2 PM and then quit.
Low bands were bad both nites. Very noisy here.
Missed zone 6 and 12 on 20m. missed zone 2 on 40. dont remember what =
else "easy" I missed zone wise. Missed lots of "easy" mults on all band =
but especially 15M.=20
No VK or ZL on 40. 20 was good the first day (open most of the night to =
EU) and I went right to the high bands without looking back on 40 for =
some LP mults. The 4L 20 at 40' is a round the clock killer antenna. =20
Found a 9M8 up in the novice band on 15 around 9 PM Sat night with no =
one calling.
Used the 80 M loop on 160 as the feed point (less coax) is stuck up in a =
tree and around a limb that needs to be cut down. Was going to fix that =
Friday but rained all day and I was not going to get the ladder and =
chain saw out in slippery condition. First time in a long time that I =
have been able to put in 30 hours in this contest. Usually have =
Thanksgiving conflicts =20
that storm on Saturday where the bands went dead was real scary. I had =
seen Larry's message about the possible wipe out conditions and I went =
to eat once the bands died. Glad they came back though.
My goal was 2.0 M and I should be over that after the log checking =
process as I was very careful to make sure I had the correct call sign.
Any interesting stories/thoughts to share with the group about =
conditions etc....
