I am using a 3 transistor version. It has worked well on my IC-735 since
1987.
It's housed in a "Sucrets" can along with the audio isolation transformers.
The In914 and 10 MFD capacitor from the Tx line to Ground provides the
negative bias for the Rx line.

Subject: [RTTY] Icom CI-V with Transistors
Has anyone used the "transistor type" of serial to TTL (CI-V) converter? Had
any issues? I've built one with the MAX232 chip and
it works fine.
If anyone has had issues with a transistor type, please let me know.
