I would think that is POSSIBLE with an WPRG+ board, but VERY doubtful with a
FLASHROM.

All I am really wondering is if at some point the processor is the slowest
player on the team and will effect performance b4 the license limit is
reached.

Andy,
It is still to difficult to give you a number. The variables are way to
numerous!

One site is strictly residential based upon the location. But other sites
are a 60/40 maybe 70/30 mix Res with business. If we have any corporate
users we push them towards our SDSL or T1 services. Prior to the last 4
months we have only used 802.11b AP1000's and from experience limit the
amount of users to 30 per interface. On those systems we have been using
bandwidth management. I have been really exited to be able to throttle at
CPE or BASE. So yes .. all customers are throttled.

Andy,
Impossible to answer. What kind of traffic, corporate or residential
clients, are you throttling bandwidth, etc.
Too many variables for us to test.

Based on processor speed alone, What is the recommended number of users to
have per WPBASE board without seeing a significant performance decrease for
each user?

Oh,
and I should have told you all this: The extra processing power is needed
to help with the Superpacket aggregation- packing and unpacking that data,
on top of polling, takes processing power. This is only on the BASE side,
the WPRG+ boards are fine for clients, as they do not control the polling,
and all they have to do is the Superpacket aggregation.

Well, this brings about my next question for the list. Is there a list of
motherboards people have had good results with and can vouch for
compatibility?
I don't ever see using Flashrom for client sites, but at a tower where I
plan to serve customers and micropops from and want all the performance I
can get, it seems interesting.
I have a source for off-lease systems where I can buy HP Vectra PIII933/128
Ram or Compaq PIII 866/128 Ram for $250. Would that seem like a good
platform for FlashRom?
