There are lots of them on Ebay and such. Although I don’t have a laptop, I do
use 3 of them because my desktop is a small form factor model with limited plug
in cards.

As far as “heard by the operator”, at least on the K3 there is no difference
between line out and headphone out other than line out does not change with
volume, so it’s a set and forget. Splitting the headphone line should work just
as well if you tend to keep your headphone audio at the same level most of the
time. If you switch the headphones to the other radio during transmit, you will
lose your transmitted signal (assuming you have the monitor on). I’m not sure
if the rules require transmitted as well as received audio to be captured.

That’s a great idea, (only today did I wonder if a product even existed. (not
locally, but I can get it online) )…..only problem is that the rules states “as
heard by the operator”….but I could do that by splitting the headphone audio.
Thanks Ken !

Buy a $10 USB sound dongle and plug it in. Just be sure the dongle has a stereo
input. Use the line out from the radios to record.

Does anyone have much experience with this?

I use N1MM+

I'd like to try QSORDER by Vasily K3IT instead of buying a handheld digital
recorder which start around $150 here locally.

I recently went SO2R with the YCCC box.(a very nice kit)

I use a laptop with the headphone and mic jacks already used up with my
headset's microphone going in the mic port, and the headphone port going on
as mic audio feeding the YCCC SO2R box.

If I split the headphone audio with a Y-connector and feed it back into the
mic jack which I am already using for my mic I think I'll have issues,
right?

So, what do all you SO2R ops do for recording, per the new CQWW rules posted
yesterday.

(please make replies technical and not about the new rules..we can start
another thread for whether you are for or against it, hi !)

TNX a lot,
