I used a Budwig HQ-1 center insulator on my 40-2CD. I just soldered some ring lugs to the ends of the stiff wire, bent them to shape, and screweded 'em on. Much easier to weatherproof a PL-259/SO-239
I have a 29 foot class C motorhome. I tried using a screwdriver antenna, mounted to the ladder, and grounded into the steel body frame. This worked but it wasn't wonderful. I have been experimenting

The guidelines in the Rohn drawings are for specific heights and guying configurations. If you change things around by going to more guys, bigger guy wire size, or bigger anchors, you can buy more sq
Good Idea, but I'm sure you'd get QRMed by thousands of non-contesters 'politely' trying to tell you you're on the WRONG SIDEBAND! -Tony, K1KP _______________________________________________ ________
My apologies for sending this reply to the wrong reflector! If you want the context, visit CQ-Contest... -Tony p.s. Talk about being on the wrong sideband! ___________________________________________
Dave Thanks for the post. I have USAA for all my insurance coverage and it's nice to know they cover the tower stuff. I called them about it a few years back and got a confirmation, but the real test

I need to know the actual ID of a TB-3 thrust bearing - in other words, the actual max size mast it will accomodate. I've looked over many sites but have not been able to find anything more detailed
Thinking of a rotator upgrade here, and the Alfa-Spid RAK-1 looked pretty good on the show floor at Dayton. I'm looking to hear about the good, the bad, and the ugly on this one. eHam reviews seem ra
In response to interest, here's my short list of rebuild tips for the KLM KT34 series antennas: -Make sure the wall thickness on all the 16" capacitor tubes is .049" and not .058". Some of the KLM's
This post is to announce the formation of a Yahoo Group dedicated to discussion of applications, construction, and maintenance of the Killer Tribanders from KLM and M2. Includes KT34(A), KT34-XA, KT3

If you read the 'fine print' on the airline sites, it probably states that the golf bag can NOT contain anything OTHER than golf equipment, not even a pair of underwear! Although I doubt any airlines
