I don't know about the 3CX5000A7 but I have a good, used pull from an MRI machine in a 3CPX5000A7 with filament transformer, for $450 shipped, CONUS or would consider a trade on a KW amp. Willy K3VW

I did the mod about 10 years ago. Peter Dahl has the special transformer, that fits in but is a tight fit. I bought the oil filled cap from him too. There are two, that are real small but cost quite-

The problem with 3-500Z's was/ is caused by insufficient cooling of the tubes. Some amps even use a muffin fan on 3CX800 tube amps, which, according to Eimac's spec's are to be cooled by a blower, no

I have several tested good 4-1000A tubes. Two are a matched set of Penta Lab tubes. Also have a H.B. 4-1000 amp that works 10 to 80 meter's. Has 3.3 KVDC w/ oil cap. RF deck has meters and vacuum var

A 4-1000A is a tetrode and using it in grounded grid, raises the IMD products and is harder to drive. It is easier, to build one in G.G. but grid driven is the best way to go or even G2DAF ! Willy K3
