[Skimmertalk] RU9CZD skimmer QS1R died in the recent thunderstorm. Help needed.

Probably.  But before you replace the USB chip, measure the output of the
voltage regulators.  The voltage regulators have failed in many QS1Rs that
use SkimSrv, especially if there was no heat sink or cooling fans added
after it was received.

Don't be misled by a "USB error" displayed by SkimSrv.  That message can be
displayed for almost any failure.  It does not usually mean that the USB
chip is bad.  It may be OK.
