No, I can cycle my RP hardware power and it DOES reboot to my persistent
password change. That was pretty important to me to leave it up 24/7.
Power company service in my neighborhood is dicey, and outages sometimes
outlast the UPS.

I am certain the password is not the default, it took me almost 2 hours
yesterday afternoon to remember what I changed it to so I could log on.
Unique passwords are great, but only if they can be remembered. :o

I will experiment more to verify, but I think I built the current
ecosystem from the v0.95 in the Red Pitaya archive. As near as I can
determine that version on my main computer has the same date stamp as my
last build onto RP.

v.95 archive:

Another issue possible may be if there are differences between the 10
bit and 14 bit RP devices. I expect the one here is a 10 bit, bought in
September 2016.

Pavel indicated that there was an issue with the math libraries in the
newer versions(v0.96 and newer) of the Red Pitaya ecosystems. He
indicated it should have been resolved, but I never tested a newer v.96
to verify[nor the newer v.97]. The problem I had with version 0.96
resulted in visible spurs on signals in the SDR waterfall, although it
otherwise gave the appearance of functioning.

Asking the question on the RP forum might get to Pavel's attention quicker.

Linux VM: Currently I'm running V16 of Ubuntu[as a mysql server], Pavel
specifies v14. Nor have I built the VM as he has described.

It is possible v16 would work just as well, but it would be fairly
trivial to build a v14 Ubuntu VM exactly as described by Pavel. That's
part of the appeal of VirtualBox. If one were built dedicated to the
purpose, it could then be shared easily as a pre-built VM. I'm just not
smart enough to understand Pavel's code. :o

As for 6m, I'm sure my transformer is less than ideal for 6m, but it was
on hand. The minicircuits looks like a great choice for replacement.
Not sure about performance of W7IUV style pre-amp, if I recall the gain
drops above 25-30Mhz. In summary, after re-reading Dai's posts, I'm
certain my 6m problem is somewhere in my implementation, and not a major
issue with the Red Pitaya.

All possibility of experimentation will soon be disrupted here, we have
a major home remodel/repair in the planning stage which will soon
disrupt everything. Leaky 60 year old bathrooms....bah, humbug.
