Summary:
- It is indeed possible to run two instances of CwSkimmerServer on one PC to support two RedPitaya boards at the same time. Adding RTTY may easily run even fast PCs into saturation.
- The RedPitaya 125-10 may be satisfactory for many users depending on antennas and noise at a given QTH. The 125-14 should theoretically offer a better dynamic range.
- One user has reported privately to me regarding a comparison between the 125-10 and 125-14. One test did favour the 125-14 with an SNR advantage of 1-2dB for some spots. Another test revealed no significant difference.
- If either of the RedPitayas can equal the performance of a QS1R in a typical skimmer application is debatable and has not been a topic of my post. However, several users have reported and published that the RedPitaya 125-14 indeed produced a comparable volume and quality of spots in a real life comparison.
