[Skimmertalk] Telnet Server

I have run into an unexpected issue when connecting to Skimmer's telnet
server over the Internet. If you have two Internet telnet connections
from the same IP address to the same Skimmer, closing one connection
seems to close both connections. This doesn't occur if all the
connections are within the same LAN.

Yesterday I was setting up a Skimmer (version 1.4) at a remote QTH. I
planned to use two telnet connections from my home LAN to the remote
Skimmer, one to get the spots and the other to change Skimmer's
frequency periodically using Skimmer Scanner
(http://home.roadrunner.com/~w3oa/SkimScan/). Skimmer Scanner opens and
closes it's telnet connection every time it sends a command to Skimmer.
I found that when Skimmer Scanner closed it's connection the telnet
connection I was using to receive the spots also closed. I have also
duplicated this action with two connections from Command Prompt windows.

This doesn't seem to be a problem with all telnet servers. I can
establish two telnet connections to ve7cc.net, close one, and the other
stays open.

So I'm wondering if there is a bug in Skimmer's telnet server?

My work around for now is to run Skimmer Scanner on the same computer
Skimmer is on at the remote site. The I use UltraVNC to make changes ti
Skimmer Scanner's operation, such as changing schedules.
