The PTT switch on my 708 mic is getting mechanically flaky.  
Does anyone know a source for a replacement  switch?
And does anyone have any hints about removing and replacing the decorative 
plate on the mic base (cemented in place with adhesive)?

I got fed up with the crazy dial setup and put an old turns counter I had from many years ago on it. Doesn't look great, but it works.You might be able to find a turns counter on EBay or a surplus place, but they aren't cheap. MFJ has some tuner parts, but I haven't looked there. It's a possibility, but you have to adapt any you find.BTW, a fellow in EBay sells the pointer string and two nice led bulbs for a reasonable price. I'll go ahead and send the pointer and any associated parts when your address is verified.
