I don't have an Eagle, but on my Omni VII I use a visual method even though
the Omni has a Spot function where you can match tone with the received
signal. Like you, hearing that pitch difference has become more difficult
over time. Instead I sort of cheat and use the waterfall display on HRD. I
have the 700 Hz offset marked and I tune until the received signal is right
on that mark, so I know I will be zeroed with that signal.

I hope some of the Eagle experts out there can help me.(???)
I am tired of running into a certain W6 on CW who keeps telling me I am
100hz
high and why can't I zero beat his signal.
I operate CW only and I have been CW only since 1963. No SSB at all. Don't
want
to go there.
This guy is telling me I don't know how to operate my gear. I probably could
not hear the 100 cycle difference even if I was able to use a separate RX!
My
hearing is not that good anymore!
Anyway-tell me a way to use the Eagle so I can zero beat a received CW
signal.
Is there a way? This guy was going on and on about me using the RIT AFTER I
was
zero beat if I wanted to hear a different pitch.
How can I do that If I don't know if I am zero beat?
This is probably a question with no definitive answer but any help would be
appreciated. Give me a step by step and I will certainly try it!
Thanks!!
