I am wondering if Ten Tec is cutting prices to dump as much equipment as
possible before pulling out of amateur radio. The ceased/pulled of the
enclosure sector of their business. I spoke with Stan about a month ago and
there will not be a replacement for the Orion II. No plans to go beyond that
radio.
Just a thought from a pessimist. However, remember the direction Collins
went.

Subject: Re: [TenTec] TT Mega Sale
I noticed that the pricing also included tuners, filters and optional NB,
so this is the biggest slashing of prices I have ever seen done by Ten Tec
in my lifetime of buying TT radios. I am in business my self and a sale
like this is done to generate cash for cash flow purposes, and to get
turnover of product. It also means things could be slow especially during
these summer months. But regardless of why, it is a good time to get a
rig you always wanted for a really good price. And that is the bottom line
for many of us. Toby K4NH

Wow, that sure is a sale. Maybe some of the Ten Tec guru's can explain
but this sure doesnt make sense from a business perspective to me.
Knocking a grand off the Omni VII. 800 off the eagle and 300 off a Agro.
I wish I was in the market for a new rig. Kinda scary though and makes me
wonder about the future. Seems like a 'fire' sale. Just
sayin.......Shoots the heck out of the used market for those trying to
sell eagles and omni's.
