Another good book with minimal math that hams could benefit by reading is "Grounding and Shielding Techniques in Instrumentation" by Ralph Morrison. He has many points that make you think. His work also covers what to do with rack mounted equipment to optimize performance with low level signals. Most received RF fits that description. Ralph was a very knowledgeable person to talk about grounding. I met him at a Telemetry Convention.
