I have a Weller WLC100 Adjustable Power Soldering Station which costs
about $50, unless you find it on sale for less. Works great and seems
very stable over time. I use three or four different tips depending on
the job. The largest, heaviest tip has just enough ballast and mass to
do a good job on PL-259s.
