One cause for the problem is running a logging program that does not use
RTS/CTS handshaking. This causes the Omni VII to sometimes receive
garbage messages and develop a transmit offset. The fix is to power off
and back on and make sure the logging program uses RTS/CTS handshaking
to communicate with the Omni VII.

I have also seen this mentioned on the various forums. I use the Orion

most of the time. However I have an Omni VII received on 08-22-07. I

the same to occur a few weeks ago for the only time made aware to me.
After
confirming there was no operator error, I powered down and back on and

not had a re-occurrence. Don't know if this has been resolved by anyone

of now.

Subject: [TenTec] Omni VII Question
I have occasionally been told my transmit frequency appears not to agree
with my VFO display. Thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
since I am not sure what to think or believe.
I know this has been discussed before, so I apologize for using the band
width.
