The meter as used in the 238 tuner is a 200 micoramp meter. There is no
shunt.
I suggest you check with Paul at Tentec Service to obtain a replacement.
Plus, it wil have the correct scale.
Being one that does troubleshoot and repair equipment myself, I do not
replace parts unless I can confirm they are defective. Many times replacing
a part may introduce other issues. In my practice, experience and thinking,
the shotgun repair technique is not suggested.

I think the meter in the 229 is 200 microamps not 200 milliamps listed the
Futurlec meter.
Not sure what the basic movement is without the shunt.

Rick,
Futurlec.com has a 0-200mA panel meter (model APM0A2) that sells
for
about $10. You can see it here:
http://www.futurlec.com/Panel_Meters.shtml The features are:
· MU-45 Size
· Mounting Hole: 45mm Diameter
· Face: 58mm Wide, 52mm High
· Long-Life Movement
· Quality Construction
· Shunt Included
It is basically a small 2 ¼ inch wide by 2 inch high meter. I am
thinking it might fit into the place where the other meter was mounted
by using a homemade adapter plate. It might be worth a try if you
cannot find an original.
