I got my Extra somewhere around 89. That does not make me any better or
worse than the guy that got his yesterday or 40 years ago. BUT it does have
its benefits.
I am primarily a CW DX chaser, and most of the DXpeditions operate in the
extra portion of the CW band.
It also means that in a contest you can start at the bottom of the band and
work your way up the band and not have to worry about being out of your
segment.
Despite what was said in a post on here, there is activity other than
contests in the Extra portion.
Congrats to the guy who said that he passed his Extra. I hope that you enjoy
it and take advantage of the privilages.
Other than I use T T radios and have since 86, I cant see what this has to
do with T T.
