Hi Scott,

Part of the source is AGC I believe. Use Slow AGC and Slow QSK and that will get rid of a good bit of it. Sidetone keying is another source. If you get rid of these two sources, there is still a switching transient which I believe is just some imperfections in the audio/QSK interaction.

Hi Steve

the popping sound is most noticeable when sending CW...for example, it I were sending at 15 wpm and sending dit dah dit dah....the beginning of the dah would cause that popping (its always ther but more so at the dah after a slight recovery) in the speaker--not unlike a really loud station except I am in TX mode...not sure if that is AGC related or not but I suspect so...have not looked to see to what extent mods have been made, but I did have a huge 1000 uF 16vCap across one of the connectors on the control board (key clicks?)...

the tx signal itself is clean and the popping is in my side tone speaker only...

hope this rambling makes sense...

cheers

scott
