[TenTec] Orion II transmit equalization

I operated my Orion II this weekend in the AWA's AM QSO Party, and noticed  
that the transmit equalization is quite a bit different between AM and  
SSB.  On SSB, it sounded best when flat (0 dB), but on AM it was quite  bassy 
and I had to set it at -7 dB.  In both cases I have the LF  rolloff set to 
150 Hz.  I am using v2.044A and the 707 Regal mic.
 
Is there a reason for this, or is it a bug?
