I absolutely love my Omni VII!! I had one and traded "up" to the Orion II. I
loved that radio too, but really missed my Omni VII. As time went on, I had
a chance to get another Omni VII. As more time has passed, I caught myself
using the Omni VII about
all the time. My operating style has changed over time and I have went from
a heavy DX chaser, CW op, to a rag chewing SSB op (I use it mostly for
ESSB). The Omni VII plays extremely well in all areas of ham radio. I
eventually sold the Orion II.... (but I do miss it too; just because it is a
nice radio too).
Just my 2 cents worth. The best fun I have had in my radio career! lol!!
