[TenTec] modifying ten tec scout modules for different frequencys

has anyone modified a scout module to receive on different frequencies. i would 
like to tune down to the LW band - 100khz - 500 khz for beacon hunting. it 
would seem that it should be pretty easy. maybe a crystal or two. has anyone
