release! No sleep at all last night......and tonight will be a 10mg Ambien
night.

The excitement is building as Orion and Orion II owners anticipate the
arrival of the first firmware update for their fine rigs in nearly two
years. Never mind the Oscars, the Grammys, or even the Pulitzer, this
'red-carpet' event has hams around the planet repeatedly aiming their
browsers at the Ten Tec Downloads page to see if anything new has shown
up!
The recent e-mail that the beta testing was finished and that the factory
planned a release by the end of the week, plus an observation I made a
couple of years ago that most previous releases came on Fridays, has us
all anticipating the big arrival. If it does come tomorrow, it would be
well-timed for the start of the ARRL International CW DX contest, a
perfect place to put the new code to the ultimate test!
This time tomorrow, will we be jubilantly ruling the bands, sporting the
"K3 killer" code, or will be be tossing and turning in our beds thinking
"maybe next week..."? Join us again tomorrow for another exciting
adventure of "As the Tuning Dial Turns"!
