I have noticed inconsistent operation of my 706 PTT button too. I
assumed it was due to the high humidity here in Hilo. I use the button
to key the rig for checking SWR or for slow keying. The 706 has no other
purpose here. A J-38 plugged into the rear panel PTT jack solved the
problem.
DE N6KB Am I the only one that complains about the PTT button on the 706 mic? I work a lot of DX and have need to press this button a lot of times. It's crap shoot whether the rig goes into transmit??? Got to press it a number of times sometimes to get the rig to transmit. |
