Another possibility is that the Omni V is set up to key using the transistor
and the transistor might be blown (happens when you key an old amp with high
negative voltage keying). If so, it's about a 10 cent repair.
Can't remember if the V has software enable/disable for the rig's Ext.
keying relay. Maybe it's just switched off. We need someone with a V
manual to look that up.

Mark, he tried that and says it does not key the amp.
I told Rick that the Relay(N O) RCA is the one I use.
He may have a bad RCA plug, phono cable, or someone without an amp disabled
the relay because it made tooooo much noise.
