Yes, I thought about that, but I haven't done the math. Actually, the Scout has a 2.5 MHz PTO, but the second harmonic may cause trouble, although there is a low pass filter on the PTO output.

Those edge connectors look like standard spacing. In fact, they must be because of the connector that they plug into. One could probably get prototype blank boards with edge connectors like that.

What I'd like to try is building a 60 meter module or modifying a 40 meter module to work on 60 meters, if I could get a spare 40 m module (for less than $90!).

Most tentec gear has a 5 MHz PTO and a 9 MHz IF, running RF at 5.3 MHz
makes for lots of birdies in and out. Probably worse than the early 17
meter setups where the 9 MHz IF doubled to put out a signal just outside
the ham band.
