If your MP has not been modified to fix the "noise blanker always on"
problem, this will be an issue. This has been a problem in several of the
Yaesu high-end radios since the FT-1000D or so, if memory serves.

I've not done a side-by-side A/B comparison between the Omni VI + and the
FT-1000MP, but the thing that stands out most to me is how a strong close-in
signal can cause "de-sense" in the FT-1000MP that I never really noticed
with the Omni VI +. Also, I've not been able to duplicate the function of
the Omni VI + NR button with the EDSP on the FT-1000MP. The NR button
really made weak signals jump out of the noise.

Hi Marshall...now that I have both rigs set up side by side, I notice almost
a 500Hz discrepancy between them, with the Omni being lower.
I'm also noticing the TT does a better job digging into weak noisy
sigs...even without using the DSP...same antenna, of course.
Have you noticed any of this?

Subject: [TenTec] For Sale Ten-Tec OMNI VI +
Ten-Tec OMNI VI + for sale, with filters, matching Ten-Tec 961 Deluxe Power
Supply with speaker, and Ten-Tec 705 desk mic.
The OMNI VI + is cosmetically unblemished - no dings, nicks, or scratches.
The transceiver was checked out by Ten-Tec about a year ago and the main
encoder was replaced. Everything works.
Included are the 1.8 kHz, 500 Hz, and 250 Hz filters, plus a 2.4 kHz filter
for N1 and a 500 Hz filter for N2. Also an extra 1.8 kHz filter that could
be used in N1 is included.
The power supply matches the transceiver.
Pictures available on request. Ten-Tec sells just the OMNI VI + for
$1695.00 without the filters, power supply or desk mic. I'm asking $1895.00
USD plus shipping for all. I will sell only as a package. If interested,
please inquire off reflector to marsh@ka5m.net
