The MINIMUM power supply wire gauge for any 100 watt radio would be no. 12, as it is rated at the 20 amps your 100 watt radio likely pulls. Some of the latest radios pull 25 amps, and you would need no. 10 to be safe with them. You likely are seeing voltage sag regulation issues with the high IR drop of
14 ga. on power peaks.
