I have both an Omni VI opt 1 and an Omni VI Plus and neither manual has much to say. The plus manual says "You must verify the amplifier key input requires only a low voltage dc connection to ground" The Vi manual doesn't even have this note. I like my transceivers very much but Ten-Tec's manuals leave a lot to be desired.
I would suggest calling Ten-Tec service. They are very helpful.
When I get my shack finished I am going to run a Collins 30s-1 but will be using a black box in between.

I just bought that OMNI VI opt 3 from Ten Tec. I am now searching the arcives for info on how much current the VOX relay can handle. I have a Drake L7 and the control circuit is 28 volts @ 50 ma. As a CW operator that second filter position will soon be filled and used. The OMNI VI opt 3 is replacing a 1977 Drake C line as my main rig however the trusty Drake set will still be handy if needed!
