I suspect that with the relaxation of the FCC rules on external amps, that Ten-Tec and others may soon offer an external amp.

I run my Scout portable at 30 W output and have always found this power level to be adequate, even with a portable antenna.

Maybe it's my poor web-surfing skills, but it doesn't look like the 10W-input amps are available in the US. HRO carries the 1.5 kW job, but it requires 85W. Do you know of a source?
