When we moved back from belgium I brought a spool of the aircell coax with me! Also, I have seen it advertised in CQ magazine somewhere. If you like it, why not stick with it?

Tnx Carl.

I just read the reports on eHam.
The stuff looks very good.

For the outdoor piece, I want to buy various lengths with the connector
already soldered and weatherproofed.

However, it looks like this stuff is pretty hefty. For permanent use.

I just bought a Kelemen dipole (trap dipole for 80/40/20) which I will
install immediately when I get to my mom's house. Since it's a temporary
installation and probably using a telescoping fiberglass pole, I need
something light to feed it with. It will be a short run, max 50 ft. Here I was thinking about using the CNT-240 and wonder how it compares to RG-58.

I have been using some stuff that is the same size as RG-8 and is called
"buryflex". It is low loss and seems excellent.

Subject: [TenTec] OT: Question on Coax Cable

I am moving back to the states in April and want to know what kind of
cable
I should buy for my antennas.

I am familiar with the old standard RG-58, RG-8, and RG-213, but don't
know
anything about the stuff which has come onto the market during the past
35years.

(I've been in Europe for 35 years).

I see ads for Cinta CNT-240 and CNT-400 in the ham mags.

I wonder how these compare to RG-58 and RG-213 for outdoor use, feeding an
antenna.

What are the pro's and con's (disregard cable loss - I have a chart
showing
this).

Here in Europe, I have been using AIRCELL 7 which is a lot lighter than
RG-213.

It is also smaller in diameter and much more flexible.

At the same time, it is low loss.

I am looking for something like this in the states.

Open for suggestions!
