I do remember reading about putting a ground braid on the shield cover that goes over the processor.

This probably won't help much, but I have a motorcycle with built-in
cruze control.
They designed the control system so that the processor was located right
next to the stereo audio amp module.
Needless to say, with cruze on, there was a boat load of processor noise
injected into the audio.
When I had the system apart one day, I covered the processor section
with a thin metal plate.
Bingo.... noise gone.

May not help at all..... but then... one never knows :)

well, the message you posted apparently said yes to your question.
Also,
Many years ago in QRP Quarterly there was a write up involving some improvements to Scout when they first came out.
This was one of them and yes, it did work
Them Scouts are really nice radios to play with.
And I like your subject title :-)

I had archived this note regarding the SCOUT background HISS remedy. I contacted TEN TEC this morning and was told there is no real "fix" for the processor hiss. Using high impedance headset helps some. I was curious if any have made this mod and if it is effective.
