Interesting - I use the bandstacking registers all the time on my Orion I
with the latest firmware. I have them set on all bands to CW, PSK, FSK, and
SSB freq and mode, and they are 100% repeatable. FWIW.

I resoundingly agree with the ergonomics sentiments (regrets) of the
Orion. It is SOOO frustrating to change bands and have some utterly
absurd settings get restored from "who knows where". This is
compounded if you use the subreceiver, which typically gets set to a
different mode than the main receiver, leaving you with innumerable
key presses before you can operate. ARGHHHH
I won't even think of using the band stack registers any more. I
change bands by manually entering a new frequency. I change modes via
"USER1" and "USER2".
