Well the unit from MJF does solve the problem of maintaining a 13.8
volt output no mater what the battery state is, it can be adjusted
for cut off at 9, 10 or 11 volts at battery. It solves the problem of
rigs not working well on 11.5 to 12.0 volts.
Have fun.

That's fine, as long as all you want is 12 volts. As I explained

They do work however, if all you want is 12 volts.
As for reinventing the wheel.....these kinds of things I advocate
have been
around the renewable energy crowd for years. Its just that they

comment on
them that I've seen.

TT buffs,
Interesting read on all this. Instead of reinventing the wheel, just
pick up the phone and call MJF and purchase a their 12 volt booster
System, MJF-4416 sounds like what many are looking for, efficiency
is in the order of 89 to 95 percent, go to their web site and look at
the specs, all for 139 frog skins. Also includes Anderson power
connectors as well as 5- way binding posts.
