The D-104 was made for AM with enhanced high frequencies back in the
days when IF transformer made a receiver pass band that gently rolled
off those highs. And the original crystal D-104 was made for very high
impedance loads half to 1 megohm. I doubt the Orion II has nearly that
high an input impedance. The dynamic D-104 may work with lower
impedance. And amplified D-104 would work at the lower impedance but
will have way too much audio for the radio.
