Hi, Craig--

The finals in the Triton and black Omni radios can go into oscillation if
the ALC sensing circuit is not working properly. This failure of the ALC
sometimes comes from electrostatic discharge in the vicinity. I assume
without knowing that the same oscillation would occur in the Argosy if the
ALC is in trouble.

Assuming you first noticed the problem last night, when did you last use the
rig on those higher bands? If my rig went south on 20-10 meters, I'd not
notice it for months or years.

A warning: the finals in the Argosy are like hen's teeth. I suggest you
NOT increase the trip threshold in the supply unless you are darned sure
that the supply is the trouble. Even then, I'd want to know its trouble.

73, Mike N4NT
