Most building codes and some licensed electricians will allow you to use 
cheaper labor to run the conduit and pull the wires or cable, and save 
the connections for the licensed electrician. The run of the conduit or 
cable still needs to be done according to code, and the electrician or 
inspector signing for it needs to be able to see that. Buy a copy of 
NFPA NEC so you can read up on how many supports per foot, minimum bend 
radius, distance from gas and water lines, and all the other details 
that might make a difference along the cable/conduit run.
