TenTec does not give power requirements based on UL regulations, here is
what they say for the Centurion.
Primary Power: 220-250 Vac @ 15 A. 110-125 Vac @ 30 A, 50/60 Hz. For full
power operation, 220-250 Vac is strongly recommended.
Anytime a manufacturer gives current ratings of 15 or 30 amps you can be
sure they are not UL approved. They should be giving the actual current
used not their recommended circuit ampacity.
Now to your question, and the answer is yes and no. No if you plan to run
the amp at full power out such as RTTY and are on a 15 ampere line some
distance from the circuit breaker panel. Yes if you are close to the
circuit breaker panel and will be on SSB or CW but my advise would be to get
an Amitron AL-811H 800 watts out and no problem running on a 15 ampere 120
volt circuit, maximum draw at 120 volts is 10 amperes. They are very nice
amps I have one along with the AL-82. Ameritron amps do everything they are
advertised to do.
