I checked my NB button and I can switch the hardware NB on and off from the
front with 2.037j.
There were always some sort of keying artifacts that accompanied the
side-tone, sort of a "click-clack" reminiscent of the old railroad telegraph
sound. The fact that you now notice a hum on 10 meters could mean it's RF
getting into the rig. Been there done that! A ferrite loop on the headset
cable should clear it up, although you may need some ferrite on the CW
paddles cable, too if indeed that's the problem.
