Mark - I don't know anything about a Heil Proset but I do know the Orion
manual as printed is wrong - there should be an addenda sheet somewhere in
your manual - but basically the addenda sheet says as follows-
" Please refer to page 10 of the manual . Disregard the wiring diagram for
microphones as shown in fig 2-4.Use fig 2-5 for proper microphone wiring
diagram
Please note: The microphone cable shield must be tied to the transcievers
microphone connector shell. This is normally done by clamping the shield
runner under the strain relief of the connector. Refer to fig 2-5. Ten_Tec
microphones and the Heil /TenTec Studio one R9625 sold by Ten_Tec are
already wired as such - many cables (such as other Heil cables) are NOT"
Maybe that will help - I know I had to rewire my D104 that I used on my TR7
for 25 years to get it to work with the Orion and went thru some diddling
until I got it to work !!
My notes in my manual say-
1 is mic hot
2 is mic low
3 is PTT hot (other side goes to mic case )ie tieing 3 to mic shell actuates
PTT
4 is 9v for electret
