[TenTec] Omni VI+ tuning whine

I wonder if anybody else has experienced this problem and if there is a 
cure. When tuning my        Omni VI+, especially if I have the RF gain 
rolled back, there is an audible whine .
When I sent the rig to Ten Tec a few weeks ago they replaced the 
encoder..which was very stiff. Now the rig tunes very smoothly. The same 
whine was present before the encoder was replaced, so I'm fairly sure it's 
not an encoder problem. The rig works fantastic otherwise and this is only a 
minor annoyance because the whine is gone when I cease tuning. Thanks.
