hey guys/gals!The radio can function very well with 7AH batts all day (at reduced power) They are Gel Cells for those interested. I use two of them, when one goes down, I switch in the other and go for another 4/5 hours. I use solar panels to charge them. Who sez they (Scout) hard to be used as portable ??? (smile)Also I have a sealed 60AH batt I also solar-charge and THAT sucker keeps me Scout running all weekend! Oh, and the 516 is also set up the same way! It lasts me all week! What a blast! Ron, wb1hga "so what you cannot copy CW well, just sit down and do it!" |
