No...you use a standard serial cable to interface to your computer.
N1MM Logger and many contest programs interface with the Omni 6 +
very well, with default parameters.
Without a doubt, get an Inrad 600 hz roofing filter and install it.
I have two Omni 6 + rigs and an Omni 6 rig, none of which have been
back to the factory yet. I bought the Omni 6 in 1992. So your Kenwood
friend is mis-informed!
