But it isn't limited. Use PBT. You can get about as close to 6 Khz of AF
response as you will with 12 Khz of bandwidth. And yes, it's only one
sideband, but unless you're trying to squeeze every last ounce out of the
ether it won't matter. On the ham bands at least, narrow bandwidths on AM
and lots of PBT are the order of the day most of the time.
I'd like to see it opened up as well. An AM sync detector would be a good
thing, too. But there are a lot of very good SWBC radios out there. I'm
having a hard time getting worked up about it.
