Thanks for the response guys.

This thing had leaky finals in it once and Ten-Tec replaced them. The heatsink was getting hot then during RX. Now its cool as can be.

Carl, the boards are all mated up properly. I removed the front panel as that is about the only way to make sure. That is good to go.

I have also had low-pass issues on two Pegasus. They start dropping out during receive. I thought maybe something was stuck or maybe a bad coil. I just replaced all of them since I was not sure which ones were flickering on me. Same issue. 15 and 20 xmit only.

I think I might pull the lowpass board again and give it a good once over. Seems like that is the problem area to me

73 and thanks again.

I had the 20 meter section cease xmiting on my Pegasus...turned out that one
of the relays on the bandpass filter board developed an open circut on the
relay's coil....I think, since I used the rig on 20 meter psk predominately,
that the coil wire simply burnt open.
Both the input and output relay's coils are in series with one another, FWIW ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carl Moreschi" <n4py@arrl.net>

I would guess because you removed the tuner that the board with the low
pass
filter relays on it is not fully seated in the pegasus. This board goes
right next to the tuner board and is very easy to dislodge when adding or
removing the tuner.

Rich,

I'd be suspect of a couple things:

1. Output transistors have gone bad, would be a bit
surprising for a radio that was just sitting though. The main
clue to look for for this type of failure is if the PA heat
sink is warm or hot while only in RX.

2. LP filter relays not switching properly (bad relay). This
more typically effects just one band, unless it is the 15Mor
20M relay stuck closed. Another possibility along this line
would be that the board interconnects are intermittent,
haven't really heard of the Pegasus having that kind of
problem though.

Both of these problems are not uncommon for the Pegasus
though frequency that I see postings about people running
into them have dropped dramatically in the last couple years.
