From my own personal experience (your milage may vary) I have used the
recommended Airpax circut breakers in the past with a homebrew power supply, and have had to send my Omni 6 back 3 times to have the finals and driver transistors replaced. It wasn't until I procured a TT 961 power supply that matches the rig that I had some real protection. The Airpax circut breaker, in my case, was not fast enough acting to protect the rig. Both my Paragon II and Omni 6 now have separate 961 power supplies.
And no more fried finals....

Buy a Ten Tec supply or go with an Astron and an Airpax breaker in the
positive line to the rig.
Junk the one you have.
It could fry the finals on that fine Paragon if you try to tune up with it.
I would never ever use it without an Airpax breaker in line even if it was
working FB.
