as has been repeatedly explained, you are comparing apples and
oranges.  the lifetime expectation at purchase time for the orion was
vastly different from that of a yaecomwood, both based on the software
upgradeablilty as emphasized by tentec as well as tentec's prior
product history (titan II excepted).  the ft1000mp series, btw, well
outlived the orion - fall 1999 vs summer 2003 to the present.
