Interesting idea. Right now I've got the Inrad 762 in the 1800 slot, and operate cw with that slot specifically selected in the filter menu (250 and 500 are disabled). With the proposed set point programmablility I could use "auto" and have the 1800 slot switched in at 600 as you suggest so that the filter set 2400-1000-600 would be available at all times. Hmmm. I really like the Inrad 762, but also find the 1kHz filter useful sometimes.
